The other forum I'm on has a section for storing popular threads that are no longer active, so they can be remembered and avoid being lost in the shuffle. Members request the threads they'd like to be moved there by contacting the moderators.
I kind of like the feature. I can read entertaining threads from the past, without having to search through hundreds of pages.
Just an ideeer. Thought I'd share.
