I was told by the moderators not to send a link to a whole thread but to link to the specific post I'm referring to. How do you do this?

The only way I know is to scroll the specific post to the top of your sceen, and THEN copy the link. When the link is clicked, it will show that post on top, the way it was when you copied it.

I'm totally confused how those instructions worked for you. Because scrolling up and down on a webpage doesn't change the URL in the address box. But, glad they did work for you.

Thankfully, I finally recently learned how to do it. Something I too had wondered. How I learned, and what works for me: Click the little graphic at the beginning of a post, right before "Posted:" and the date/time. Use that URL for linking to that post.

I just tried it and it didn't work for me. Obviously I am not understanding something.

Quote:
go to the exact post you want to link to.
find the little dog eared page (Image) at the top of that specific post where it says "Posted:" and the date.
click with your mouse ON that little dog eared page and the page will refresh and bring the post to the top of your window.
Go to the address bar of your web browser and hilite and copy that web address (that's your link!)
Then paste it into the post where you want the link to go.

and voila! it is done!
