When WP first started out, how did you promote to help attract a userbase and get members?

I keep trying to promote my blog ( http://andyssurviving.net/ ), but my methods of promoting don't seem to work.

The blog is only 10 days old so I don't expect a large amount of traffic so quickly.

I just want to learn some tips/tricks that can help get some immediate traffic, and what I can do to help get traffic in the long run.

Thanks,
Andy...

A lot of webmasters don't like to give up their traffic secrets. This site has been around a long time, and I registered when there was only 600 members, 6 years ago. Traffic does not come overnight, it takes a lot of hard work and time.

Expecting traffic in 10 days is nothing short of a miracle. Start by submitting your site to google.

Keep adding content to your site. Buy advertising. Look up traffic generating methods. Social network.

Set up good meta tags, e-mail webmasters of similar sites and do link exchanges, put links to your site in signatures on forums you use, etc.
