...don't you just hate them?

"The Truth On Your Aspergers Child That Doctors Are Not Telling You!"
"Become Popular And Liked"
"Breakthrough: Treating Autism & Other Diseases! Taking Patients Now"

Especially that last one - I mean, it says at the bottom of every page, "Asperger's is not a disease".

You'd think, on a site that's supposed to help ASD people feel good about themselves, they would have blocked those sorts of things.

Opinions, please!

maybe it has google ads because the site is in part sponsored by google?
that's how it is with my blog page anyways.

and the type of ads that pop up are directly related to page content btw.
personally they've never really bothered me because frankly i just don't give a damn.
why should i let myself be riled by simple silly words :? ?

Yeah, I know they're related to page content. There's one about meeting single Muslim girls that appears on topics that that spambot's gotten to.

Meh.

Maybe I should move away from this heater... *calms myself down*

If you don't like 'em, block 'em. (please don't ban me)

Humm... I'm not getting off to a very good start here, am I?! :(

I shall try to figure out how to do that right now... if I can't work it out, you may next hear from me on the computer geeks' forum, asking how. :?

Hi, I can't answer your Q but can give you an alternative (you've probably heard it before). If you downlaod Firefox and start using that as your browser, then you can go get some useful Add-ons particularly one called Add-Blocker Plus. Using this set-up I haven't seen an advert on any website for a long time and it really does improve the internet experience. If you do see an ad with this running just right click and select block image.

the 'Add-ons' and 'Add-Blocker Plus' are hyper links that will take you to those links. :D

Thanks! :)

I'm using Firefox, & I've blocked all the image adverts (those "lose 1kg of belly fat a day with this simple weird rule" or whatever they are... reminds me of a Doctor Who episode, that one! :P) - it's just the Google ones I can't get rid of, because they're not images. But I haven't had an update for a few years now - maybe there's something that'll sort it now...

Good idea! :D

Tsk tsk, Aietra, stop being stingey with your bandwidth... :x

Aitra, the ads we're getting often strike me as inappropriate for the same reasons they bother you. They do not appear to be consistent with the mission and position of this site, even though they come about by linking key words. I don't think anyone associated with the site as control over the ads or veto power, however, and we do need ads to exist. It might be a good thing to look into, as to if there is any way to GET veto power.

Ah, I knew someone here would get what I was on about! :D "Inappropriate" - that's exactly the word I was looking for!

Mmm... maybe a moderator or someone could contact Google. There must be something they can do about it. Is there a top-dog administrator here who's let them be there in the first place?

Our 'top dog' is our Developer, Alex Plank. The rest of us are merely members making sure the chips and dip are full and the root beer keg is pumped up.

If you are using Firefox try the add-on NoScript. I'm using this in combination with Adblock Plus. Those 2 should be able to block anything you want.
