I was on this site today, and found a banner ad titled "I'm popular, you're not", which was selling a book Popular. I'm sure it was selling some type of social skill instruction book that might be helpful in some way. But the wording of the banner ad is downright insulting! If you can get rid of those banners somehow, please do.

I haven't been thrilled with the ad selection, either. I don't think anyone with this site has any control over it, however. Best I can suggest for now is to never click on any of the dubious ones. I believe these show up through some analysis program someone else has, outside of this site. I do wish we had some veto power; quite a bit does not fit positions held by our membership.

If you use FireFox, Ad-Block Plus.

To be honest, I'm fine with that ad. I'm fine with any ad just as long as it doesn't contain depictions of BODY PARTS! IT'S DISGUISTING!

I'm surprised anyone still uses Internet Explorer. I had the misfortune of using it the other day and the Internet was an entirely different place - full of adverts, flash animation and just generally horrible.

It was also incredibly slow in comparison to Firefox (with Ad-Block plus, No Script and FlashBlock). If you have a slow internet connection web pages take much longer to load with Internet Explorer - mainly because the adverts take longer to download to the browser than the contents of the web page you are actually interested in.

In a nutshell: Some websites viewed in Firefox (Ad-Block plus etc) are like browsing a book in a library. The same website in Internet Explorer is like Vegas on steroids and full of street hustlers after your money.

Take your pick. I prefer a library :D

I just saw it for the first time. It makes me laugh :lmao:

I never understood the appeal of being popular so it just makes me think the ad writer must be an incredibly shallow person. Pitiable.

I always wondered why NTs want to be liked so badly. Even worse, NOT being liked is a fireable offense at many workplaces. So the aspie guy who does the job but is socially maladroit gets canned and blacklisted, while the popular social butterfly NTs get promoted.

I no longer wonder why every single manufactured product made in the USA is either uniformly garbage or has such variable build quality that getting one that works is a tossup. In the 1960s they used to say that if you bought a car made on Monday or Friday you were asking for trouble, since on Friday the workers were daydreaming about the weekend and on Monday they were too drunk to get anything done. I was reading reviews of a US built washing machine that has an interesting design, and the reviews were either that it was the best washer ever made or that it was junk. Apparently the old saw is still true.

Only now everybody is sitting around yapping instead of working, we have whole buildings filled with women who backstab and catfight 5 days a week every week of the year and get paid ridiculous amounts of money to do it. Now that they are out of work, they are selling their bodies, they have no shame. Now I know why the elites have always been trying to import workers, and why Ben Franklin said that American workers would need to be saints for the country to succeed, and that Americans worshipped at "the ale house" on "Saint Monday".
