Hi, I keep getting e-mails that show people have responded to my submissions here on Wrong Planet. But for the life of me I can't remember which discussion groups I visited. I went to my account and there is no record of submission.

If so then you must have another account here as the post above is your Only Submitted Post here! But its not allowed to have more than one account, so how can it be?

After log in, go to the forum page, there should be a "View your posts" link in the upper right hand corner. The list is sorted by the time of the last post. If someone just responded, it should be among the tops.

In the topic reply notification email, it should have two links: click to view topic, click to remove topic. If you view the topic, it will be one that you posted in. You may be able to go through the topic and figure out what your former username was. The mods can see your ISP though, so they could also tell you.

I went to your account and found no record of submission, and this is the only post you have made. I also went to your profile and found you had not even set up your profile to send you notification of replies or Private Messages.

If you click on the link from the email you receive from WrongPlanet.net do you get taken to that post on WrongPlanet?

But then it shouldn't have been possible to create a new account anyways? I dunno, 'cause I'm always signed in, but isn't there one of those "forgot your user-name or password?" things at sign-on? If he's getting the e-mails, he must have the same e-mail address. Unless it's an e-mail forwarding thing. :?

I don't know whether the software uses the email address in that manner. Here you have the sign in with your username and password, unlike facebook or myspace where the email is your sign in.

Yea, but almost all sites where you sign in with a username will stop you if you try to sign up for another account with the same e-mail address. Even sites that specifically state that they do allow you to make alternate accounts still won't let you use the same e-mail address, it'll give you one of those "Whoops, you already have an account, please click here to sign in. If you've forgotten your username or password, click here to have a reminder sent to your e-mail." messages.
