Do ads on WP threads coincide with the topic?

I had this post on myopia and there was an ad on glasses and sometimes there are dating ads on the love and dating section.

Yes, they are Google ads which uses the text on the page + keywords the advertisers have supplied to try to come up with ads the reader may be interested in.
