To be honest you really don't need to ask the OP's permission to quote. If its put on the internet its considered to be "fair game". Its nice to do that, but not necessary.

Just so you know for future, the rights that you have. It is not "fair game", because he says it is being published, and would at least need permission from the person he is quoting, but he seems to know that, so that is good! I can quote you on this board, and WP can quote you for this board, but a person would need at least some form of permission from you to publish it for anything short of something news worthy.
The internet is not all free and everything is not all fair game, copyright laws still apply!

Alex lets anyone do anything with WP, quotes, etc. used to be concened with it because it is against the ToS, but now he just says it is no big deal. Go for it. :D

He dosnt 'own' what each person says here. He only gives himself the right to use the content for WP, so he could do something like quote you in something to promot this place. He can say whatever he wants to say, but copyright laws still apply, so I imagine that is why "psychobabbler" got permission from each individual member. If you were quoted in full, without your permission, in a published book, that is against your rights, and you would most likely win a lawsuit.
Just letting people know that they do have a right and choice in something like this
