How comes my name is Anonymous on chat?

How comes my name is Anonymous on chat and is there any way you can change it because I'n pretty much struggling in there at the moment, what should I do?

Okay, I've fixed it now, what I had to do was put "/nick <Desired Nickname>" and it worked for me in the end. :D
