Hey mods, I'm just curious why this keeps happening to me and League_Girl.
A couple of days ago, League_Girl got banned and there for no reason and no explanation but told it was some sort of glitch.

Yesterday THIS happened to me (yet again) and I thought I did something that was wrong, if I did, I'm very sorry, I don't do this intentionally, I had so much going on yesterday that I just couldn't think straight, but then I was unbanned so I really don't know why its happening, (oh and this is the 2nd time its happened to me).

The only thing i can think is that you went with in a banned IP range. Other than that the system could have had a glitch...which is not unsual. Don't worry you haven't done anything banworthy of late.

As I understand it, the way banning works is that it is the IP that is banned. On smaller boards, that's all that's needed. But WP seems to have a problem with people using what are called Tor nodes to wreak havoc on the system. When a Tor node's IP is banned, the Tor user simply resets the IP by unplugging the cable or DSL modem and letting the IP reset. What this means is that WP has a LONG list of banned IPs, because of Tor users messing with the boards, and eventually somebody else gets that IP if they're on an ISP that is used by one of those troublesome Tor users. When they get that IP, they can't access the board. The solution is to unplug your modem and let your IP reset, then you should be able to use the board again. If you can PM one of the mods with the name if your internet provider, the mod can confirm if they have a problem with a user from that ISP using Tor to muck up WP.

I don't think you have the same glitch as League_Girl, since yours resolved itself without a moderator having to do something. I think you experienced a glitch we've had for a while and that others have experienced, where if you go out off the internet and come back, the problem disappears. I think there is an explanation somewhere on this board ...

If anyone gets to the point where the standard rec's don't work, and they want to verify their status, tinky and I now have emails in our sig's where we can be reached outside of WP. I don't check it everyday, but it's there.
