Date and time always wrong

Nevermind, found the answer.

What was the issue?

I didn't realize the time here was in GMT, people's post's are dated the next day.

WP is not based on GMT - it is based on US East coast local time (EST or EDT), with a five hour fixed shift.

This is very convenient for the members who live in that time zone, and fairly good for the 2/3rds of the membership who live in the USA, but means that the rest of the world has to shift their clocks either two or four times over the course of the year. (Also, members in India can never get it right - as WP does not allow them to use their IST time zone of UTC+05:30 - and similarly for various other areas.)

E.g. Currently, my entry holds "GMT+0", which is wrong, because Europe is on Daylight Saving Time, i.e. I'm on BST (UTC+1). However, it is what works, as the WP clock is on US East coast DST (EDT) already. Note that GMT is defined as the same as UTC, nowadays.

I will need to adjust my WP setting on the 31st of this month, as Europe goes off DST at 2am UTC on that day. I will temporarily need to be be showing GMT-1. I.e. although I will be on GMT at that time, WP will still be on EST, so I have to correct for that.

I will then need to adjust the entry again, on 7th November (2am EDT), when WP does its local switch back from EDT to EST. Finally, it will be correct as GMT.

Over the winter, then, is is ONLY period where my WP setting is my valid time zone. Ditto for everyone else in the world, outside of the USA.

The US switches to EDT on the second Sunday of March, when I'll need to start showing GMT-1 again, until Europe switches to DST on the last Sunday of march, when I'll set it to GMT again.
