How Do Notifications Work?

Hi Alex or any other member who can help me :D I'm new and well I don't understand how the notification system works. When you post something there is a box you check of "Notify me when a reply is posted" but I don't know where this notification is found? Is it on my email account or is there a way to get it on Wrongplanet.net (that would be more convenient because I rarely use my email account!)

Checking that box sends a notification to your email.

To see if people have replied to threads you've posted in, find the "View your posts" link on the upper right of the forums on the forum index page. That lists just threads you've posted in. Ones marked as new have new replies.
