How do you "unsubscribe" from a thread?

There are some threads I would rather not post in any more, because I don't handle debate or disagreement very well. Unfortunately, when I click on Community/Discussion Forums and select "View Your Posts," searching for responses, the threads I no longer wish to participate in are at the top, since they are very active. Is there a way to filter them out?

I don't think you can. You could try and delete your posts from those threads if its still possible; but otherwise there is no other way to filter those threads out.

Just ignore them. You don't have to participate if you don't want to.

I believe that unwatching the topic only unsubscribes you from recieving mails when the topic is bumped.

I don't believe that what you want in this situation is possible, Lovebirds, and I think restraining yourself from looking at the offending topic is your only recourse.

I also want to unsubscribe from a thread (frankly because it's slowly driving me nuts). I don't at all mind seeing the thread title near the top of the listings (it's not THAT bad), but I do mind getting frequent e-mail notifications of updates! The trouble is that, although there is an underlined piece of text "Stop watching this topic" at the bottom of the page, it isn't an active link, and nothing happens when I click on it or hover the mouse pointer over it. I expect this has something to do with the embarrassing fact that I am still using Win98SE and Firefox 2.0.0.20, and therefore probably nothing can be done about it. But if help is possible, please help! If I get another e-mail on the topic of "Adding a third gender option", I'll scream like a girl, you see if I don't!
