Hi Alex,
I enjoy your forum and discussion boards,
I was wondering if you would consider a sub-forum for Parents with kids diagnosed with PDD-NOS and HFA, There is a lot of specific items we would like to discuss such as speech therapy, speech delay, hyperlexia etc....
There is some support for this idea

Secondly there seems to be a fair number of Aspie posters who seem hostile to non-Aspies on this forum. I notice you make this distinction on the webpage that WP is a site for autism AND aspergers? this may be a technical oversight that unfortunately is creating a sense of separateness in younger Aspies who seem to perceive autism as a separate affliction. In addition there is a perception that this forum is for diagnosed "Aspies" which is making self diagnosed Aspies (like myself) and non-autistic parents feel a little unwelcome.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts
cheers
Cyberdad

Autism and Aspergers are the same thing, and we have a parenting forum for children on the spectrum already:

Ahhhh that's great you acknowledge this. So perhaps your website could just post
WrongPlanet.net
"The online resource and community for Autism".....

That would probably solve a lot of issues I raised.

It's not MY website. You can wait for the owner to reply, but you might be waiting a while.

I don't think I have ever heard someone complain about that tagline before. Is it somehow hindering your participation? Changing that tagline won't stop the people who are hostile to NTs from acting that way. You are better off reporting them to a moderator.

I won't go through the issue any further but want to emphasise that younger kids with Aspergers reading the banner may be led to believe they have a special condition outside of the autism spectrum. It actually irritates me because it reflects ignorance on the web administrator's part. I realize you are all busy people so I therefore appreciate whatever feedback comes back to this issue.
