Strange bug with the site or is the database corrupt?

A new member had made their first post in the "Getting to know each other" forum.

I posted a reply to their post and got the following error message:

Sorry, but only can reply to posts in this forum.

I clicked back and tried to submit again several times but always the same error message.

On looking at the posts in the forum the members thread had vanished!

:scratch:

Another member has already said he's experienced problems with that forum and been prompted to log in before he can post there despite being already logged in. Is the database corrupt?

On reflection I'm guessing that the OP deleted their post while I was in the middle of replying to it and since only the OPs post existed in the thread it didn't know what to do with my reply when I submitted it. The error message could be clearer though.
