We need a system for determining what goes into the mature forums and what goes into the gender-specific forums.
Either that, or we need to make the Men's and Women's forums viewable to members only, because we don't want the first thing people visiting this site to see to be discussions of penis size, menstruation, masturbation, etc.
I, however, suggest we do both- Place the gender-specific forums on members' only -and- create a system for determining what should go into which forum and why.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Yupa, you seem to me to be terribly concerned with what seem to be very minor issues. You wanted a Men's Room if the girls were going to have a Girl's Club and now you want to see content control. I wish you could just feel free to do and say whatever your good judgment tells you, and get comfortable with others doing the same. Stop worrying about what other people do or think or feel or say. Let them be free to be who they are. It has nothing to do with you. Focus on yourself. If you want to be accepted, you have to be accepting. Set the example you want to see, but don't worry about who follows it and who doesn't. Some will and some won't. Get over it. Stop trying to control other people. You'll be much happier when you unlearn such behavior, I assure you.

That's my suggestion. Is anybody else concerned about our present arrangement?
(Do speak up. Yupa may have a valid concern that I'm just insensitive to.)

I thought the current discussions in the Men's forum were fairly juvenile, but once the novelty factor wears off it should be alright. It reminds me of young boys sitting in a circle and giggling at the word 'penis'.

Yupa, I had no idea anyone might consider menstruation a topic for the mature forum only, or I would have posted it there (I figured if there was no gory detail involved, it was ok). I'm very sorry if I have offended anyone.

Why do people need to apologise for talking about topics which you'd naturally assume would come up in a gender-related forum?

And what exactly is wrong with talking about menstruation or masturbation? There's no reason to have these topics in an age-restricted forum - girls start menstruating from about 10 years and people from both sexes tend to masturbate well before then.

yes if you want to be a moderator you need to abandon your preconcieved notions of people. the problem is that you are looking at things through biased eyes.
and its not fair to people like sc.
yupa, i like you, i always have. but you are very young. the older you get the more you will understand the things i am trying to say.

I agree with you. No mature content allowed. I have been watching threads, and I have been seeing Mature Content in some of the threads in the Men's discussion. Why don't you email a moderator if you have any questions. I know everything about this site except the game pass to Aspie Chess. If any Mature Content is in the Gender discussion, it is supposed to be in the Mature Forum. Thanks.

I would ignore them. Then, if it gets worse, report them to Alex, or any other moderator.

I think women ought to have the ability to start a sexually-themed thread in the women's forum having the comfort that only women are allowed to reply. Just make the gender forums viewable to logged in members only. It would be a shame to make the gender forums, esp the women's forum, since supposedly we are a minority here, rated G, since plenty of our concerns are rater R or worse. :? And no, starting a "women's only" thread in the adult forum won't suffice, as that place already feels like a boy's club.
