Please remove the stupid article-thingies which are on EVERY forum page. Please also find the person who designed them and take away his computer privileges for at least a decade. These things seriously piss me off and I cannot even find a way to adblock them. I understand ads for revenue, but these things just sit there, look ugly, take up screenspace, make the page look worse on netbooks, distract, and at least to me taste bad (synaesthesia, don't ask). Sorry if I went out of line now, but I have been annoyed by them since MONTHS!

I don't see ANY adverts on this site. Do you mean those space hogging things at the top of the forum that open and collapse? (if they are still there?) If so and you use Firefox you can get rid of those, I'll give you instructions if that is the case. I can't handle visual disturbances like that either, it makes me nauseous. I would have needed to quit WP or seriously curtail my visits if I hadn't been able to block them.

Yes, I mean these. If you could tell me how to block them in FF, IE for Windows CE 5.0 and Konqueror (my computer to be Linuxed is being shipped as we chat and I yearn to return to it) I would like!

Visual disturbances is one thing, 1024x600 (or 800x480) screens and space-hogging nonsense another one...

I only know how to block them in Firefox under Windows, no idea about IE, not used it for years.
The way to block using Firefox under Linux is probably similar, you just need to work out the relevant folder:

So for Firefox under Windows:

Find this folder or similar. Note that AppData may be hidden depending on your version of Windows and you may need to tell Windows Explorer to show hidden files:

C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\(random characters).default\chrome

(Note that 'chrome' has nothing to do with the Internet browser by that name.)

Create a file in that folder called userContent.css use Notepad or any other plain text editor.

Copy and paste the following lines into the file:

Code:
@-moz-document domain(wrongplanet.net) {
   div#accordion {
        display: none !important;
        }
}

Close Firefox and re-start it. The irritating section should be gone.

Thank you very much for that workaround!

what if you don't see that command line/string whatever on your computer?

I seem to be having some difficulty finding "profiles"
