Why isn't there a forum search page? Or is there one? I can only see the Google Custom Search.

I find it hard to track my messages without a search. :?

Hmm, if you want to find just your own messages, click on your profile and under your post count click "Find all posts by [username]", which will lead you to here in your case.

If you want to find a particular topic, search the keyword(s) on that Google search, and it should suffice.

Thanks!

For some reason I kept thinking the CMS profile was replacing the actual forum profile but appearently there is 2 different profiles available.
That is exactly what I was looking for, a way to find my own posts to see the possible replies my post/thread got.
I feel that the email notifaction of new messages is annoying because I would have to remove the notifaction emails each time I get one to keep tracking my "real" emails.

Yeah, I cope with the e-mails, myself!

Sometimes for some reason the search posts feature hasn't worked, though it's never happened when looking at my own posts.
(It also shows that I may be a bit of a stalker :P)

Hoping to bring this up again - I'm trying to index the Parents' discussion forum (at least, in a minimal fashion) and a forum-specific search would be really helpful. In another phbb site I visit, you can do a google forum search by typing "keywords" f=# site:thenameoftheforum.com, into the search box - where # is the number that pops up when you click the main page for the forum. That doesn't seem to work here, nor does using the word "forum" which appears in the url.

Any ideas? Alternately, is there any way for posters to tag their own threads with topics? People could index the information themselves, then. Or possibly a way to put a separate searchbox on each forum page?

I feel like there is a wealth of information on this site that is buried because it isn't indexed; keyword searches can be really difficult to use if you don't know exactly what you are looking for. I see posters asking the same questions over and over again - not that there's anything wrong with that, nor that it should stop - I'm just afraid some of the really useful answers in some of the older posts will get lost.

Well a good starting point would simply be to type "Parents' Discussion" in the search box, like so.

Perhaps if you typed something else before or after "Parents' Discussion", you'll find what you're looking for.
But yes, I agree that separate search bars in the associated forums would be more helpful, however I doubt it would be seen to anytime soon, if ever.

This is what I've been doing - it helps, but doesn't necessarily exclude the rest of wrongplanet, plus if you're doing a complex set of keywords you can end up with all kinds of stuff. Just wondering if the folks who have more google-savvy than I know the trick to excluding the other threads.

Hmm, have you tried putting "Parents' Discussion" in quotes? This may help.
