I noticed that sometimes when trying to get into the forums today that FireFox gets redirected to a FAKE page about how my system has been hacked. There's a popup box on FF & a message telling me to log in so I can get assistance. The popup box prevents me from closing FF so I have go into my running programs & force stop FF. This has only happened when trying to go into the forums on this site & I've cleared out my carch, cookies, ran a virus scan & I had it happen since so I must assume that there's something bad going on with the adds or something related to this site.

Does this happen when you use a different browser?

I have run my virus protection administrator status check twice in the past 12 hours, it has come up clean without any malware attack on my own computer. It does seem possible that WP has been hacked, though what the whole story is I don't know.

I haven't checked but I find it's very intermittent. I've been going into the forums by clicking links on my watched posts & I haven't been getting that cr@p. Maybe part of the forum got hacked or got screwed up some other way.

I've been seeing this as well in FF.

I am getting the same thing on FireFox. The first time I had to go into Task Manager to shut it off but this time tried Alt/F4. It gave me a prompt about closing more than one tab before the warning came back. I noted where that prompt was and put my cursor on it. After another Alt/F4, I immediately clicked to close the browser, and it worked!
