Their are fake members on this site who are sending us spam in INBOX, who are pretending to be a hot chick with the aspies saying that they like our profile, and want to send us pics. Once you give them your email, and click on the pics they can possibly get access into your computer by either puting (keylogger, or a rat), which are hacking tools. This fake members do not have any post on this site, this another clue that they are spammeers. This of form of ehworing which is pretending to be girl online, either for finical or hacking purposes. Lets expose ewhorers and spammers on this site.

I work as a forum moderator for another site, and one of my jobs is to track down and eliminate scammers on that site. If someone sends you a message and tries to get you to contact them off-site (usually it's a Yahoo address, although I've seen a few others), there's a 99.9% chance that this is a scammer. I have never seen one who wasn't a scammer, but I will admit there's a very minuscule non-zero-possibility that you might get such a message from a non-scammer.

You can also tell by the stilted wording -- "I will like to know you" or "I am to be liking your structure" (maybe she saw the box girder bridge I built on the Illinois River?) -- most of the scammer e-mails are readily identifiable after you've seen a few, because the English is so very poor and the messages are all egregiously similar.

These people are *NOT* hackers. Not in any way, shape, or form. They sign up for a forum account and start sending out messages to people. Again, not. in any way. even remotely. hacking.

That is all.

People misusing the phrase hacker is something that particularly sets me off, because I am a hacker - and rather proud of that fact.

Just because someone uses a computer to commit a crime, doesn't make them a hacker - at best it makes them a technologically literate criminal. The scammers that are posting on this forum have been doing this for decades, using fax blasts, snail mail with fake letterhead, etc.

The only thing that's changed is the Internet lets them send out vastly higher quantities of junk for the same cost. They're not "hacking" in the same way debt collection agencies aren't "hacking" when they use facebook to track down debtors.

i understand and it must be very annoying, as you are knowledgeable in that area. mere mortals use the words hacker/scammer/spammer interchangeably.

it's cool when you contribute to the forums. i look forward to your posts!

They're using bots to mass signup for forum accounts. If you think that's "hacking", then you probably think people who use botnets are hacking. Then again, you used the term blackhat hacking, so right there you've proven you're not even worth my time.
