Privacy Concerns
I have some concerns about privacy.
I'm in the closet about all this. A lot of you would probably like be to tell everyone I'm an aspie. I have a plan regarding that but frankly it's my call.
I signed upto this site and aspieaffection after I sussected I was an aspie and a while ago I sent a email regarding my account but since then; I have recieved unsoliced emails, request to be my freind on gmail, facebook and twitter. This may not be wrongplanets fault.
But a few days ago I do a search on aspieaffections to there was any life. But what happened when I hit search I was presented with the information for every female from 20-35. Thankfully there passwords were hashed but the email addresses were in plaintext.
If your listening, thank you for the site but respect our choise when to tell the world. Please.

For a very long time - long before WP, I've had a constant flow of spam EMails - the type and "flavour of the month" comes and goes like the seasons.
Recently I also received regular so-called updates about all these people I'm supposed to know on Facebook and Twitter - except I have accounts for neither. Penny stocks spam is on the increase again - I've not seen that for some time but there's nowhere near as much as there used to be,
Sadly, spam is a fact of online life these days: once your EMail address is out there, you'll start getting it sooner or later.
As regards WP - all of the forums except Members Only are freely available to the public: anyone can read them and "anyone" includes Google and other search engine robots, so please think about what you post here if privacy is your concern.
This, from the FAQ, addresses privacy issues too: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postp3870313.html#3870313
The only connection between AspieAffection and WP is that both sites are owned by Alex, so I'm afraid any questions about AspieAffection will need to be addressed to that site.
