This one is so bad, I can hardly concentrate on what I'm writing. And my usual method of disabling Shockwave Flash doesn't work.

Okay, how do I get rid of this ad or at least make it stop moving?

Use Firefox with Adblock.

I'm at Firefox and I don't see where there's a tool dropdown or something.

Adblock Plus in an extension for both Firefox and Google Chrome. You have to install it. It doesn't come by default with either browser.

Google is your friend. It's not hard to find, and even easier to install once you do. It blocks almost all ads by default, and won't allow them to display unless you grant an exception.

I'm at a library computer. What can I temporarily do?

Suck it up? You're not likely going to be able to install anything on a public computer. Sorry. :(

You can ask the staff there to have their IT guys install it, but that's not likely to happen for quite a long time, if at all.

Have you tried to install it anyway? You never know. It might actually work, but I doubt it.

And I think we need to continue fighting against these moving ads, at least the really bad ones.

(incidentally, gee, I wonder why we have eating disorders in the United States)

As a temporary measure for Internet Explorer (for other annoying ads):

exit Wrongplanet, go to any other place that has Flash, maybe youtube.com

Tools > Manage Add-ons

and you'll get a whole list of "crap" (well, not crap, but it is overcomplicated stuff)

Adobe Systems Incorporated
Shockwave Flash Object

Adobe Systems, Incorporated
.
.
.

McAfee, Inc
.
.
.

Click the one you want. In this case, Shockwave Flash Object. You will then be given the choice to do it the other way. That is, if it's enabled, you will be given the choice to disable. Click that. Then click close for the Add-on box.

You can then come back to WrongPlanet.net. And I'm still signed it when I come back. And Voila!, no moving ads.

(If you're using a public computer, as a courtesy, try to remember to switch it back.)

==============================

But doesn't work for the 'flat stomach' girl. Maybe they're using something other than Flash.

(And by the way, I think it's okay to be skinny as a rail. It's okay not to be skinny as a rail. :D )

At least they don't say OBEY anymore like they used to. OBEY this one rule! I found the whole OBEY thing creepy, like being stuck in the old movie They Live. I wanted to hunt for my super duper alien revealing shades every time I saw that. 8) 8)

It could be javascript, which can also be disabled. Don't know that I would do that though, since disabling javascript can interfere with a lot of useful web features.

I might poke around a little bit on javascript.
