Long threads and viewing the first few posts

I went to reply to a thread which was 2 pages long. I needed to check something that the OP had written. When I went to do that, I could only view a certain amount of posts. Short of opening a new tab / window and finding the thread and viewing it, is there another way to view longer threads in full when in reply to thread mode?

I don't think so, unfortunately - for what it's worth, the most posts you can look back at on reply mode is 15

If you think you may need to look back at the complete thread when posting a reply open the "post reply" page in a new window/tab (just right click on the button).

If you only realise after you have started to post you could reopen the thread (via the forum index) using the links above the post reply box.
