Just got a popup

That said this website (WP, I was here) wants to install active x and something else from adobe. I said it could. I hope I did right. Nothing is starting to install or download that I can see though.

Hmm, that sounds suspicious. This sort of thing is normally included as standard these days and doesn't generally need adding later.
Have you been able to play videos before now?
What were you doing immediately before this popup appeared - did it appear as a result of something you clicked on?

It's done it twice. I can play videos and see YouTube and all just fine, but since my daughter did the updates to the computer, I haven't been able to see anything where embedded videos are. Maybe that's it. I won't click on it. Thanks!

Well, I was getting that same popup on other sites too. It wanted to install Adobe Flash player and we already have it I believe, but I finally installed it. I was hoping that maybe it would show me the embedded YouTube videos here, but I've checked and it doesn't.

Either way, the mystery of the popup is solved. It was real.

Ah well that's more like it.
I thought Adobe had stopped updating this but I've had several updates over the past few months for three different operating systems.

I would recommend going to the Adobe website, www.adobe.com, to install stuff like Flash. Once installed it will notify you of any updates upon booting your PC. Any other "updates" I get I ignore.

My daughter does all that, but this kept popping up and annoying me so I just did it. Nothing seems to be different though. Maybe I'm supposed to reboot or somthing, but it didn't tell me to. Oh well, she can look at it when she gets a chance, she's really busy right now. Prom is this coming weekend and graduation is the 24th, and she's got awards day and some other stuff so she's running around like a chicken with her head cut off. I was going to show her what I did tonight, but she's gone to get her roots done and her hair cut and likely won't be back till about 10:30, and by then she will be too tired to mess with the computer, plus she wants us to take pictures together tonight when she gets back with her hair, because I fixed my hair today in that Snookie pouf that she likes on me but would never wear herself. I hope they turn out better than the ones she took of me earlier. I take horrible pictures.
