cannot access pm's??

no matter what link i try (one from my email inbox, the inbox button, direct links to specific pm's)
i cant get access, i received an email today about a new pm and i cant read it.

anyone had similar issues?

The PM was from me just to let you know I'd inserted space characters into the long word you've got for custom rank because it was interfering with the page layouts. I've just checked your profile and there is no reason that I can see why you can't send and receive PMs. Can you try logging off WP and closing your browser and then logging back in again please.

I used to have problems accessing my inbox. I would pm my self from a post in a thread and I could access my inbox that way, where it says pm at the bottom. Of every post.
