I need to officially request permission to recruit participants for an online interview. I do not want to violate any WrongPlanet rules or standards, and I would be happy to provide the decision-maker all information about respect and protection of participants. The research would allow interested people with Asperger's to contribute to improvements for federally-mandated transition planning in U.S. public schools. (Basically, educators and policy-makers would benefit greatly from their opinions and experiences. We need their help to solve the problem of low employment and postsecondary graduation rates.) Plese let me know whom to contact and how to do so. I have tried to PM Alex a few times, but I imagine he is very busy and cannot respond.

Alex is the one you need to speak to. The tricky bit is pinning him down. You may stand more chance with alternate approaches such as snail mail.

I can only find e-mail info for him. Do you have any ideas on how to locate a snail mail address for him?

just make a post and say your conducting a study or survey.give a general outline of what type of survey your conducting and ask for volunteers.
grad students types do this all the time and i have never heard of anyone needing any special permision for that.

Alex has asked us to direct people wishing to conduct surveys on WP to him first, so he can check out what the survey is about - therefore permission is still required and we remove surveys created without evidence of prior permission.
Once evidence of permission is shown to any of the moderators we will then restore the post to its original place.
