Errors trying to load the chat feature.

Hi, I'm new to the site and wanted to try the chat feature, but I'm getting a security warning message that says:
"Java has discovered application components that could indicate a security concern. The application contains both signed and unsigned code. Contact the application vendor to ensure that it has not been tampered with."

I tell it NOT to run the part that is of concern, and I get this message:

Startup error : java.lang.error : unable to load interface pixx : java.lang.security/Exception : trusted loader attempted to load sandboxed resource from http://www.wrongplanet.net/pixx.jar

any help would be appreciated, at this point I don't trust it, lol

I'm using Win 7 with Google chrome browser.

I don't think that's ever worked properly, and only permitting part of it to operate is unlikely to help.
Try this web-based chat client instead: http://webchat.freenode.net/
