I've been posting here for over 5 years and
and I still do not know how to post in the right
section. When I get on to the home page I click
on the section New topic which is next to the
reply link, but then often I get told I should have
posted in another section.......which section? I never look any further than the home page. Should I look for a new topic link elsewhere than the homepage to post a new topic?

Many thanks
Q

Ps, is this request for help in the wriong section?

(Thread moved from Autism discussion to wp.net discussion).

Can't help because I don't understand your problem!

Could you please explain your problem a little more clearly?

It depends on what kind of thread(topic) you want to make.
For example, if you want to make a thread about dating, you click on "Love and Dating" which is on the forums homepage ( http://www.wrongplanet.net/forums.html ), then click "New topic", then make your thread from there :).

[img][800:481]http://i48.tinypic.com/345yhkl.png[/img] 'Love and Dating' is at the bottom of this image, I posted the picture so you'd know where to click.
The writing under the words 'Love and dating' tell you what sort of thread you should post in there, the same goes for other topics.

I'm not too good at explaining things, so I tried to use more, and better visual aids, but some technical problems stopped me from doing so. Please tell me if what I have posted doesn't make sense :).

You cant post from the home page.

Go to a forum first.

Go to the top of the page where it says "new topic"..

Heyyyyyyyyy?

How were you able to post this question if you dont know how to post?

This IS the right section. Well, the most appropriate one, anyway.

Tallyman moved it here. Didn't you see his post saying he did it? It as right in this thread below the OP.

Don't post a new thread on the home forum, go to a specific forum and make a new thread there.

I thought I was the only one who was unsure how to use this site. Well, I know how to use it properly now, but when I first joined, I didn't even know there was a forum index, God knows why. So I always used the custom search box to search whatever I wanted to search at the time, and it came up with some results that I wanted, and I posted on the given threads, oblivious to the date and how old the thread was. Then I got confused and annoyed when people put ''this thread is over 3 years old....'' and I was like, ''well what am I meant to do then?''

Then one day I found the forum index and was like, ''ohh, I see how this works now....''

:)
