Hi guys,

Just to let you know, now that I am off of Risperdal, I have to lose the pounds I gained. I have about 33 lbs. to go before I am a healthy weight. I am going to mostly focus on my middle area, because I am a fatty right now. I look thin to other people, becuase all of my size 22 jeans don't fit anymore, and I am now in a size 14 in Women's pants, and a Men's size Small-Medium in t-shirts, and sweatshirts. I am going to get to about 160 lbs, before I will allow myself to see friends, or family, which I am guessing will take about 12-15 weeks. After I do strength training, I will do the same, by not focusing on family, and friends, also to be focused on my strength, and health. I'll do that for about 3-5 years, and get some muscles (although I have already gained some muscular weight).

Today is the day to kiss you all good-bye for an extremely long time...

Lee

Get a big dog and take him for a walk daily. He will want to go everyday and he will want to walk at a pace that will have you burning fat off like crazy. Your goal should be to burn 500 cals a day (or eat less to obtain that) then you will lose one pound a week.

TM1. I got a big dog I walk daily.

I'm taking Risperdal at the moment, and so far, I haven't gained any weight.

I have 3 big dogs I walk. I hook a steel cable around me and if I trip they can keep pulling me! (needles to say I rarely trip).

emily, please,m please, live your childhood life not the life of an anarexic, you do not need to leave or excersize your butt off beucase of weight, eating right and telling doctor that thers an extreme gain will help, you are 12 girl!! ! who are you trying to attract. i do remember that you have an emt friend whos a slim but that is not the road to follow! your parents migth wind up telling school nurse and the family doctor with this eating and excersize alot thing you are doing, for a 12 year old, school gym class and some afterschool play is enough!!

if you are trying to mimic barbie(i know u arent a girly girl) but u know, if barbie was around today with the same body proprtions as the rubber and plastic doll she would not menstrate or other things that the body does normally. stop worrying yourself about a few lbs!! ! that is unhealthy!! ! what do you weigh now?? cause a 33 lb increase while taking a med can be a problem with thyroid or pancreas(diabetes)

diabetes isnt really fun, depending on the type will depend on if you need to take insulin or not and with that disease u have to test your blood suger EVERY DAY

please you are 12 YEARS OLD, stop worrying yourself to death about your weight, if you are that concened talk to your GYM TEACHER or SCHOOL NURSE about the average weight/height chart!! !! or ask for a copy of one.

i dont mean to sound mean but theres a big problem here and it can be deadly or even hazardous to health, and its NOT SOMeTHING A 12 YEAR OLD SHOULD DWELL ON

sorry all again,

I don't think you should try and stop people losing weight if they want to. I don't see anything wrong with giving it a go, personally. Maybe she just wants to help her self esteem? Who said anything about developing an eating disorder or "mimicing barbie"?

Good luck with the weight loss, even though I have no experience with it.

Given your age, coming off Risperdal and the fact that you are in a natural growing phase, the weight will probably come off easily, without much effort at all.
Don't forget to indulge in some favourite past-times, surfing the internet may be one of those. Everyone deserves some time out for some fun. :)

Gone already?

Bugger.

I would have liked to have said goodbye.

If you are still watching, take care. I'll cry if you get hurt.

Everyone else:

If you have any sensoble weight loss tips or nurtitional advice, how about posting it here for EmiliyB?

EmilyB:

One thing that is worth remembering is that by volume, muscle weighs more than fat. 1 sq inch of muscle will be heavier than 1 sq: inch of fat. So do not be concerned if, for a short time, as fat is converted to muscle, you may go UP slightly in weight: this is normal.

Having a big dog as suggested sounds a good idea to me. However, eating healthily is also a good idea. Beware of hidden fats in certain foods. Beware sugar too-which is why fruit is not as healthy as you might think. I find raw carrots and raw broccoli taste good and don't contribute to weight so much, and tomatos are very low-cal.

Is there any possibility that any of your weight is due to fluid retention/bloating? Can you stomnach herbal teas? If so, dandelion has a diuretic effect. (I think it tastes horrible, but give it a try if you can.)

Last but by no means least, a nurse or GP may be abl;e to help you work out an effectiove diet sheet. And good luck!
