How likely would it be to get a subforum for cooking and food? Would it go in another section (aside from random)? What else would go with it?

Well I voted yes, there's more people who like to cook than trans-gendered people surely.

There are lots of food and cooking forums on the internet anyway. Are there any autism related aspects to cooking? I'm aware that a number of aspies/auties have co-morbid digestive problems / dietary requirements but probably not enough to warrant an entire forum?

Not likely. Sorry.

You could always make a cooking thread and discuss food and recipes and whatnot in it.

Aside from that, you could easily say that TFV, AWM, CMST, and PPR are unrelated to autism. Sure, autistics tend to have obsessions with these subjects, but I was at one time obsessed with cooking. Aside from that, there are other forums on the 'net that discuss these things. PPR especially. If you want some examples, though:

I have difficulty eating certain flavors/flavors together. I'm not sure if this is an autism thing or not. If not, please disregard the next paragraph.

I can think one use would be, if someone finds a recipe that looks interesting, but uses flavor combinations they can't handle, people could suggest alterations, substitutions, or other recipes. It's not always as easy as just leaving something out. A good recipe balances flavors, and so if you take a flavor out completely, you have to change the recipe or substitute in one or more flavors in order to keep the recipe in harmony. Additionally, some recipes need a certain ingredient in order to come together properly, so if that ingredient adds a flavor that clashes with the others in a way that the person can't handle, then a substitution aside from just flavor itself would be necessary (as an example: wheat flour substituted with a rice/barley blend and xanthan gum).

Another way that it can benefit autistics specifically is that a lot of autistics have monetary issues or difficulty preparing food on our own (for a number of reasons), so sharing cheap and/or easy recipes is very useful (for example, I have a recipe for semi-instant ramen that I really like. It's quick, cheap, and easy).

These are just two that I can think of off the top of my sleep deprived head. I'm also wondering what other things can go along with it (such as the music board also being for writing and art).

Instead of a forum for food, how about one for all household and domestic issues such as personal finance and budgeting, car care, pets, gardening, basic repairs etc.....

See, this is what I'm talking about. There are other things that could go in a forum that has cooking and food topics.

I support the idea for a subforum for internal affairs of a house.

That's what you think! lol

I voted yes. There are a number of section ideas I think aught to be tried out. If they don't turn out too popular the administration can just remove them. But they definitely deserve a chance

I'd like a separate section for cooking and food :)
