The only 2 adult subgroups that I see on this website are either min. age 17 or 30. This does not serve my age population, or it is necessary to sift through thousands of posts in order to find the one relevant post (a problem with using this site in general). Alex, can you create some additional subgroups for adults with higher min. ages, i.e. 40s, 50s, 50s and above, 60s and above, etc.? Please, I ask that whoever replies to this (preferably Alex) is someone other than those moderators who answered my previous posts. I had bad experiences with them. The only helpful reply I ever got to a post was from a member when I asked about books for older aspies. She suggested Aspergirls. She had not read the book but knew about it. I have since read the book. This is indeed an excellent book, but has I think only 1 interview with an aspie over 50, and none over 60. Thanks.

This is covered, as far as is practical, in the In-Depth Adult Life Discussion forum itself, and on the "40+ threads index" in it.
Is this not the sort of thing you mean - basically, what the site is offering to others but for members of the age groups you mention?

Going by the lack of posts on those threads it doesn't seem to be a very popular requirement of members on WP and consequently, it's unlikely there would be individual forums created for ages at 10-year intervals - that sounds more like a search function.

But maybe you can inject some life into them by posting there? Or perhaps post generally around WP and try to pick up some interest in those forums amongst the older members?

I know this would be nice for those members 40+, but I highly doubt that there are many members here that are older than 40.

I almost gave up this site. I am glad to see that atleast someone (TallyMan) has a sense of humor. I answer below each reply:

To Mr. Cornflake: You should expand your reading and your mind. All you know is "NO".

To Hyperlexian: I knew you were over 40. If your WP pix is you, you have interesting eyes.

To Disraeli: Thanks for taking my suggestion seriously. I agree there are few members here over 40, but that is the whole point of my suggestion. I want us dinosaurs to have our own subgroup. We should be known as "elder aspies", just as there are "elder goths" (or "elder hippies"?).

Image Elder aspies. Hmmm. Can't we just be known as the old farts?

I didn't say there weren't any older members, I was implying that there probably only a minority of the membership here and not enough to warrant a separate forum for them that isn't already served by the "Dino-Aspies" thread.

Thank you.
I think perhaps you should realise that not everything you suggest is by default a fantastic idea, long missing from WP. That way you'd be less inclined to read all the detail and explanations you receive as "no".
Essentially all I've said is "forum structure is not changed without a good case to support it - so you will need to demonstrate your case".
Essentially all you've done is joined and immediately asked for changes to be made to suit your purposes - while making no attempt at posting to WP generally and getting to know people.

We tried making a sticky with links to several threads for over 40 year olds in adult but it died out pretty quickly http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt179273.html

Not sure if other members would be interested and it was just that those threads were too limited

There isn't much traffic in that forum as it is, so having more subdivisions based on age would leave even more posts stranded in a wilderness with nobody replying to them.
