Hi,

I can write Hebrew fluently as I've studied it in evening school, and would like to learn more words in Hebrew as my vocabulary is still very basic. I thought to look for Hebrew speakers in the forum part for other languages, but to my surprise the site seems to not cope with Hebrew characters (and I would assume in Arabic and other non-western alphabets there'd be problems too)

I tried to put a few Hebrew words in my signature, but also there it becomes an odd line of numbers and signs rather than displaying the actual Hebrew characters.

Is there a way to publish in Hebrew alphabet on the forum, or is this not possible at the moment?

Toda raba me'Briksel
(that's "thank you from Brussels" but in fact this should be in Hebrew characters to do it properly  Writing Hebrew without using its own alphabet is a bit odd)

I've certainly seen Hebrew and Arabic text included in posts here, but the signature area is restricted in that only plain ASCII text and characters from the site's basic emoticon set are permitted.

As a test: according to Google Translate, this is a translation of "A test using Hebrew characters" into Hebrew:
בדיקה באמצעות אותיות עבריות

In the post edit window this is rendered as a string of numbers of the form &#nnnn;#&nnnn;#&nnnn because that isn't able to represent them properly - it's just a basic forum post editor, not a multi-lingual text editing area.
I copy/pasted the above string straight from Google Translate into this post - I expect other, more capable editors able to display and edit those characters directly would be more useful to create the text you want to display here as Hebrew or Arabic, copy/pasting it onto a post once you've finished.

Also... please note that your signature should be no more than six lines long.

? שׁאלום! אתן מדבר׳מ ע׳בר׳ת/ לוֹמד׳מ ע׳בר׳ת? ישׁ ע׳שׂראל׳ם בְּפוֹרוּם

Hmm, seems to work :)

I use the virtual keybroad from Faireal, their Hebrew keyboard is great and has all accents to indicate all vows and vowels properly. I copied the above from their virtual keyboard.

! ! תודה רבּה
