advertising

Hi all I have recently started getting really annoying advertising when I visit this site, mostly it is the sound clips to adverts, but i am also getting a loud ringtone with a popup saying linda calling. If this is malware then it must be in the browser (chrome) as I am using linux and I doubt very much it is in the OS.

Anyone else experiencing this

Advertising has been in place here for some time now, although I thought the ones with sound had been stopped.
Many Firefox users block ads with a combination of NoScript and AdBlock Plus - which is also available for Chrome, and there's a Chrome equivalent of NoScript available as "NotScripts" too.

A simple way to test whether it's the browser would be to try a different browser. Just install Firefox (or anything else) and see if you get the same thing. If it's not malware, but just regular ads then simply block them, like Cornflake said.
