This is an endemic problem. Many posters have adjusted accordingly by simply adding a "just show me the results" option in a poll. This is occasionally obscured by being the most silly response. For instance, if an option contains the words "ice cream" or "rutabaga", then it is probably the "just show me the results" option.
Once you have cast an actual vote, you can see the combined results of all votes cast.
