I've been noticing this since Sunday. WP has been going to "not responding" mode very frequently after my computer randomly had to do a recovery. It is very annoying. Has anyone else experienced this? It has not been happening with other websites.

It is ironic that the person complaining about the slowness of this website has chosen a user name that basically means "Does Not Move".

Sorry, which part do you mean isn''t slow? The whole dam forum has got faults. Each time i'm editing a post or am posting a new one up pops a captcha or some random s**t about verifying if i'm human or not basically.

It's a joke.

^ That's odd - are you still getting CAPTCHA challenges from WP? 8O
I've not seen a single one since Alex changed the way it operated a few weeks ago where previously, I'd get them on practically every post I made - and for PMs.

As for the general speed of the site, it's been Ok for me for a while now.

I haven't had to do any Captchas for ages, either.

Wrong Planet and Google are playing me up lately, even though everything is always kept up to date on my computer, and I have regular scans on the computer too. Well, Google isn't slow like WP sometimes is, but the ''back'' button is playing up on Google. I type in what I want to search, and the page with all the possible searches comes up, and I click on one, then when I find out it's not what I wanted and press back, it goes literally back to the Google homepage. Then I press forward and it goes to the search I didn't want. So I right-click on the ''back'' button and the page with all the possible searches to what I typed in (which is the page I want) doesn't seem to be there, so I've got to type it into the Google search bar all over again, remembering exactly how I worded it. I don't know why it does this. These things are just sent to try us sometimes.

And WP can be reasonably quick, but sometimes it's so bloody slow that it's frustrating. I may not know a lot about computers, but I am quick on the basic stuff, and I get so impatient when things decide to go slow. Sometimes WP is so slow that I'm unsure if the internet has disconnected or not, so I open up another tab just to see if the internet is still connected. sometimes the dreaded yellow triangle over the internet signal icon doesn't always show up the minute the internet disconnects itself.
