I have noticed an increasing amount of
flashing advertisements here on WP.
I use my mobile as I don't have a computer
and it's a real sensory challenge for me.

However, in recent times I have noticed
that there is now no option to press the
Cross on the top of the add in order to
erase it.

I was curious how a site for people known
to have serious sensory difficulties could
allow this to happen.

Does anyone else find these flashing
advertisements that you can't erase
overwhelming?

If you have Android, download & install AdBlock. If you don't, get it by any means necessary (jailbreak, Linux netbook etc...)

As a technophile I can't stand the internet without it.

Yeah, I have AdBlock on my browser (Firefox) and I haven't seen a flashing ad on WP since I dunno when.

I run AdBlock in Chrome, but insert exceptions for sites I visit. Like this site. It's how they pay for the servers that allows me to extract value.

However, I've been considering removing all my exceptions over the past couple of months because of how obnoxious ads have become. The sound-based ads that begin playing as soon as you mouse over almost as bad as the "flashy" ones.

OP, you should cross-linking this thread into the Forum Suggestions/Support Forum (whatever it's called.)

I want it in the foreground for the click-throughs on things that interest me.
