Why does these pages click?

This page has been clicking ever since it was shut down for a short time two days ago.
It doesn´t operate very well.
Why?

No, it isn´t my computer. This page is the only one doing this.

When I open a page on WP, the taskbar clicks and blinks, and sometimes these functions can hardly operate: highlight, backspace, close.
Wp is the only site, that does that. It has happened before, and I as not the only one, who experienced it.
It started a few days ago, after WP had been down for a short while.

Some pages IN THE SAME THREAD works, and some don´t. Strange.
It must be a case for the webmaster.

What taskbar? Windows? WrongPlanet doesn't have any functions for highlight, backspace and close. So I still don't know what you are saying, sorry.

Taskbar----process line in the browser-----the grey bar right over the taskbar (with the "start" button), -----the one, that says "fetching", "forum posting" or "done", while it shows a little green activity indicator...... do you understand now? (I don´t know the right names for things in english).
The clicking drives me nuts!

Are you using Microsoft Internet Explorer? I gather that 9% of people still use that outdated browser. As I remember that makes a clicking sound when it is navigating. If the page refreshes multiple times it can make a sound like click - click - click - click. The navigation sound can be disabled in the Windows control panel, sound settings.

---and when I want to post, what I wrote, it often says "could not obtain information", - and the return-button (arrow in the left corner) is inactive. In this case,my text was posted anyway. Sometimes it is not.
Many strange things happen on these pages.

I am using Internet explorer, but this hasn´t been a problem until two days ago, after the minor closing of the site.
Half a year ago it was the same, but I wrote Alex and the next day everything was ok again. WP is the only site, that does this.

If the refreshing goes on twice every second and keeps going on till I shut the page - it is an error. I happens on most pages in here, but not on every page. Strange.

The site is giving lots of error messages. This is due to the server being overloaded. This situation isn't going to improve until the new version of the site software has been finished. Alex has contracted a software firm to write a new version. I've no idea how long before the new version goes live, it could be several months (or longer).

Regarding the clicking sound, it sounds like IE but as I mentioned you can turn off that irritating sound - I remember doing so myself several years ago when I still used IE.

IE = Microsoft Internet Explorer. It is the browser that most people don't use any more to access the Internet.

You mean switch off system sounds? How can I do that? I have an old XP and have downloaded an Explorer 8, - but I can´t seem to find the possibilities mentioned.

I can't remember as far back as XP, but under system sounds look for one called the navigation sound. You should be able to set it to play no sound for navigation.

Found it! Chose "No sound"..... and no difference! Yippee!
I´ll just have to shut the loudspeakers, when on WP.
But, thank anyway. I shall look forward to renewal of the page
