Chat Ban?

So, this made me sad. I'd popped in to the IRC chat room to, well, chat... Almost immediately someone started in on me, and I'm still failing to understand why. I apologized a few times, which didn't work, so I shot back a bit... I was actually called, 'Too autist' in what I was thinking was an autist chat room.

Anyway, out of nowhere, the guy slamming me gets banned. I'm still surprised about the entire goings on, so I say, 'Heh.'. That's my all-purpose 'Make a Noise Because Something Happened' social thing. Anyway, in response to that, the admin tells me they don't like me. Next thing I know, I'm banned.

I STILL don't get what happened. I peeked into the anon chat, apologized for offending as an anon... I was told I didn't offend, and then got IP banned, again not knowing why.

Is this really a thing? I just wanted to hop into the WP room and chat with people, not be called 'Too Autist' and told 'I don't like you' and IP-banned. Am I just out of luck and not going to get what happened? Is this a normal thing? Ah... what?

I've no idea what happened; there are different mods on chat than on this site. Someone may come along and tell you more. I never go on the chat so don't know much/anything about it except the occasional post here by people complaining about being kicked out and not knowing why.

Yeah, gathered that from reading around the forum.

Just...really disconcerting to get called 'Too Autistic' in an autism forum, then Banned For Life. If it weren't blatantly absurd, I'd be more traumatized, heh.

I tried to join your site a few weeks ago but couldn't get past the question asking for the name of the site - I copied and pasted it from the title of the page asking the question - but apparently it was wrong! I gave up trying to register in the end.

That's been removed, and a new form implemented with the new site version - You'll find it much much easier now

Sorry to resurrect a dead thread. If you could email wrongplanetops@gmail.com with your IP at the time of the ban and your nickname at the time of the ban that would be great. And it may not have been a ban, but a mute. Sometimes if we think that someone was bragging about how they banned someone, we mute them for a while or do a tempban.
