The other day it took ages for the site to open a new message. It just kept refusing to open it. This is particularly annoying. Is there anything I can do to speed up being able to read messages? Currently there's a message I can't read in my sent folder either, not that that matters too much.

This is what I get when trying to open up the message in my sent folder:

Quote:
phpBB : Critical Error

Error doing DB query userdata row fetch : session_pagestar

That's one of those irritating low-level errors, popping up from deep in the forum code. :x
Like many of the others, clicking your browser's "page refresh/reload" button will normally clear it but some of these things can take three or more attempts.
You may find it's easier when there are fewer members logged on: from the UK, trying around 10-11am might help somewhat.

Unfortunately, the only thing that can be done about it is to upgrade the forum software...
(but at least it's not something wrong with your computer  )

Thanks Cornflake. I had a suspicion it was to do with the forum software. It really is starting to get bad now. What with having to C+P each post because half the time they won't send. :?

Try sending me a test PM and once I've read it, first see if you can read it in your sent folder - and then try to read the one you couldn't.

Sometimes doing this type of trick can reset "something" into working properly - I've seen a sticky thread vanish from the top of an index (it was still accessible in the normal date sequence somewhere down the index page) until a post was made to it, which had the thread magically reappearing as a sticky at the top of the page again. :?

It works again now, but thanks for the suggestion. :) That sticky thread thing sounds weird..
