Can you please answer these 2 Q's:

Is it normal for pm's you've sent to NOT show in your email account?
&
Is there some kind of paragraph separator hidden on your message drafting pages ~ would have liked to (eg) leave a line between these 2 Q's but your site and the drop down button on my mobile phone are not communicating with each-other. T

1. The PM (Personal Message) system is local to the WP website and messages are sent nowhere else, by design.
2. On a desktop-based machine, simply pressing CR ("Enter") as required will separate lines or paragraphs.

Like this...
I pressed CR once while typing the above answers to separate the lines, and once more after typing point (2), generating an empty line.
Is there no equivalent available for the browser/mobile device you're using?
Ultimately all it needs to do is to send a CR to the editing page, just like a desktop-based device would do. There is no magic or anything special involved.

Dear Cornflake,

I know private messages are only WP messages, but as WP has its own email system I figured my PM's would show up in that system.
NB: since posting that query i got a reply to my first PM and NOW that first PM shows as a sent message in my WP email account.
So i don't understand why it didn't show under 'sent mail' BEFORE i got a reply.

RE "enter" button (which i wrongly called 'drop down' button in my original message ...sorry):

at the mo i'm on a public comp, and the "enter" button seems to be working (we will see if my repy looks like a letter when submitted), but when using my phone to message on this forum that button doesn't do anything.
NB: my mobile's "enter" button does work fine when doing emails, texts and notepad.

Unfortunately i don't have a comp at home, and i usually visit this forum when at home.
SO, was hoping there was another way to make my phone do the necessary.

PS: Do you by any chance know why i can't gain full access to my blog - it contains typos, but when i just selected edit it said: "This blog entry does not belong to user . You can not update this blog entry."
It won't let me delete it [and start again] either :-(

WP doesn't have its own EMail account or mail system as such - it just sends mail like any other application would to the address provided by members in their profiles, and is typically only used to mail thread update or incoming PM alerts.

When you send a PM it will sit in your "Out (Unread)" box until the recipient picks it up - at which point it will then move to your "Sent (Read)" box.
Note that if it's deleted by the recipient from their Inbox without being read, it will simply vanish from your "Out (Unread)" box.
Any replies or unsolicited PMs will of course appear in your Inbox.

The problems with entering a CR to provide a line break sound more like an issue with the browser and/or your mobile device.
Irrespective of what's used to access it, WP is still just a pretty ordinary web site and any relatively recent browser should have no issues with the basic functionality (forum software bugs aside, but this isn't one of them).

Like all other websites produced with the expectation of being accessed by a conventional desktop-based machine, the site can be fiddly to access from a mobile device because of the limited screen space so there is often much swiping involved to access parts of the display - but this is a different issue to the mobile device (apparently) not being able to respond in a standard way.
I suspect the functionality is Ok with your EMail, text and notepad because those are applications local to the device.

What device is it and which browser are you using?
Others with the same device or browser may have more advice.
There are several members who use a mobile device to access WP and apart from the fiddly navigation, things appear functional.
I've accessed and used WP via the Dolphin browser on my Android phone; not something I'd recommend to anyone with fingers thicker than a needle, but it all worked fine.

The error message displayed when attempting to access your blog is probably one of the many bugs the forum software is plagued with and may vanish after retrying, or possibly after logging out and logging back in to WP.
But the WP blog function is and always has been broken; it's probably better to ignore it and use some external blogging service linked through your profile.
It is possible to get results but really, compared to what blogging services can offer it hardly seems worth the effort.
See here (a more recent version of many similar posts to this forum asking about the blog):

Thanks for explaining what the 'out box' is (tho i did recently brave a look in there and found a sent PM!), and for explaining how / when messages are moved in / out of there ~ much appreciated.

RE my mobile: its a nokia700 ~ when i searched for its browser it refered to 'opera' & 'mini' browsers (i know there's more info somewhere coz someone trying to improve its 'java' led me to a whole page of related info, but i don't remember where it was ...i didn't write it down coz i didn't think i'd need it again!). It also says (under internet details) that its 'browser version' is "7.4" ~ don't know if that helps any tho.

RE blogging ~ i have been working on a [non-WP] blog for a few years, but it's just about my poetry so i don't know if it's worth linking ...and anyway it needs updating, which i hate doing coz i can never remember how i did it the last time / i keep having to re-learn how to do it ...and (as you may have gathered) i'm a 'bit' of a technophobe so it's really stressful doing that.
So, i thought i'd use WP's blog space for autie/aspie related thoughts that can't go anywhere else.

You are right about the WP blogging facility being moody: it did let me edit it once (that's how it went from a couple of lines to a paragraph) but it was very frustrating waiting for it to be nice like that ~ if i decide to use it again i'll just have to be extra careful with my spelling & typing!

Sorry - I'm not familiar with the Nokia 700 or the implementation of its browser.

Hopefully other members are, but you might like to check and see that this site isn't being blocked in some way by the browser.
If it is tweakable, allow "wrongplanet.net" and "cloudflare.com" at the very least. There may be some java-related options available too.

Hmm - I know; that's just more technical stuff, but I think the answer will only be found there unfortunately.
If it's possible, try using a different browser too - even if it's just temporarily, as a test.
