Although "Always notify me of replies" is set to "yes" in my profile, a couple of days ago I stopped receiving such notifications. Does anyone else have this, too? Sometimes notifications are quite convenient.

Yes, the random and seldom way in which I get notifications often made lose interest in good threads or ignore PMs or posts aimed at me :wall:

In the last months the site became incredibility bugy and after the moderator exodus ridden with spammers, trolls and sock-puppets. I used to come here to relax once in a while, now it's just stressful and annoying.

I second that. Would it be so hard for a moderator (one that is still here) to at least confirm the reply notification issue? If it is too much work to maintain a site like this, which I can very well imagine by the way, then better shut it down.

I've had the same issue. Many of the threads I've posted in suddenly cease to notify me of replies. Thankfully the forums are being upgraded to a newer version. Alex himself said here:

It should have been done by now but I'm waiting on others to complete something they said would be done by now/

Although that was nine days ago. Once the migration process is finished, it should fix this issue I would think.

Since you're being snarky, yes, it is too hard. You'll have to figure out for yourself if it's an issue or not.

Hint: if you find yourself not getting replies to topics that you've subscribed to, then yes it is an issue for you.

My initial question was not snarky.

Appartly it was an issue not only for me, as can be seen from the earlier helpful replies by BenderRodriguez and Shep. Let's see how the new site does.

No, yours wasn't, but the post by the other user that I quoted was.

To answer your question, it was a problem on-and-off for various people on the old site. AFAIK the only way to deal with it was to grin and bear it.

Thank you. Unfortunately there still seems to be a problem with it, at least for me. For example, I did not get a notification about your latest reply to this topic.

I will continue this discussion here. That is probably more useful for the administrators.

It seems to be a problem for a few people, myself included.
