At first I thought the poster included it in their post. I put up with a lot by way of ads on WP but this is too much.

There are as many as nine ads in some posts.

NINE!

Nein Danke.

What I find more annoying is that some adds play extremely loud sound/music even without me clicking on them or hovering over them. This is probably out of WPs hands as the banners are localised, mine are mostly about Dutch insurance companies, the same crap I see on tv here.
I wouldn't mind except for the EXTREMELY LOUD MUSIC that startles me because it is way louder than the music I'm playing on my computer.

Why anyone still looks at ads on WP in this day and age is beyond me. Adblock Plus for the win! https://adblockplus.org/

But, will that remove ads from the MIDDLE of posts?? I can see it working on the perimeter, but.....

Also, FMX, I tried your code to change the colors on this site, back to the original, but it didn't work. I then copied and pasted your code and made a NEW code, like you suggested----still didn't work!! Any further suggestions??

I have adblock installed and see no ads whatsoever! Maybe that will help you indeed.

Yes, it works! Case in point: I have no idea what you're talking about! I see no adds anywhere here. AdBlock FTW!

Am experimenting with ad placement. There shouldn't be ads in the middle of posts. Only a single ad between the first & second posts of a thread. Where are you seeing ads in the middle of posts?

On this very thread, on the very first post, right beneath my writing, above the "PM", "Profile", "Report" buttons.

Re: Using AdBlock...... I tried downloading the AdBlock----didn't work----it said it wasn't compatible with the version of browser (Firefox) that I had. Updated my browser, tried installing AdBlock----didn't work----it said it wasn't compatible with the browser that I had. That's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back!! (It takes that long to download cuz I still have Dial-up Internet.) Now, I can't push the "Stop" button to stop the page from loading----thus, stopping ads from appearing----cuz I no longer have a "Stop" button on this new browser version (I used "Escape", but it only stops the ads on the "Post Reply" page, not on the thread page). When I use the "Stop" button frequently, it causes my browser to crash. Also, FMX's code STILL doesn't work!!

This new site is about to drive me to drink!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!

Campin_Cat, can you clarify the "didn't work"? What was the exact URL of the extension you tried to install (not the main page, but the download/install link you clicked) and the exact text of the error message you got? And your Firefox version.

That's strange. AdBlock is supposed to be compatible with Firefox.
I've never had any trouble with it (but I use Chrome).
