So while it seems adding youtube videos is easier and likely pictures to i hav 3 major issues with the new set up

1 I can't zoom in on threads on my iPad, before I used to be able to zoom in and out on threads so I could read them easier which is something I can't do now

2 also a reading issue, due to my dyslexia I often have my ipad read m selected text. However selecting text on the forum is now extremely hard and my iPad just doesn't seem to want to do it here for some reason :(

3 it's to white, to bright! All this bright white really bothers my sensory sensitivities!! !! They REALLY a need to at leSt find a way to allow diffrent users to change how the see backgrounds

I generally like it, but would appreciate a couple of things:

1) A better delineation between messages. It isn't as easy to determine where one post end and the next one begins just by glancing at the page.

2) I liked the box to be notified whenever a new post was made. I usually used it if I thought that I might want to post a response in the future but not at the moment.

3) I also liked the ability to have it mark all threads being watched as having been read. This was sometimes necessary because the e-mails would apparently become lost on occasion.

The two things I like the most are:

1) The "View your posts". This has already spoiled me and I would hate to go back to the previous format without this fantastic feature.

2) The "View posts since last visit". This does a good job of telling us where the discussions are happening -- what's currently hot. There is much less need to check out individual forums to see what is happening.

By the way, I like a relatively bright background so that we have better contrast between the text and the background. If all web sites did this, we could adjust the brightness of the screen better to suit our individual preferences.

One thing that some web sites do is have several themes and allow the user the choice of which web site they prefer.

I like it a lot, but for one problem. Keep hitting the Report button thinking its the reply button. Reply seems too far away to be intuitive. I think they did a great job though.

It does seem more natural to have it at the end of the post instead of the beginning.

I think the green buttons make the delineation clear.

You can can still be notified without posting. Just click the "Subscribe topic" (left on the blue line above the first post on any given page in a thread).

I keep hitting the New Topic button for that. :( Not sure why those buttons are all the way on the left side of the screen. Makes sense for a left-handed mouse user but not for a right-handed person.

The brightness is the worst thing for me though. I think it's actually the blue that bothers me more than the white. It's a pretty color but not a good one to set text against.

I really appreciate all the work that went into the upgrade, I just hope some more tweaks will be coming to give us some different color choices.

What I'm seeing is a divider line, the green buttons (I'm colorblind and didn't realize they are green), a date, time, and quote button, and then another divider line. That makes them seem to be grouped together as a single group of related items on the page.

Here's how to make WP less bright (works in Chrome and FF)

User FMX created a custom CSS style to make the new WP less bright. . The post backgrounds are the exact same green and blue as the old WP, if you miss that. ;)

See https://wp-fmx.github.io/WP/ for screenshots (and other useful stuff), but here's the TLDR version of the instructions:

1) Install the Stylish extension.
For Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/
For Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... leoegfcffe

2) Install the custom style.
Go to https://userstyles.org/styles/90807/wro ... olor-fixes and click + Install with Stylish

That's it!

User Jacoby's Fix

If you use firefox try dl'ing the add on "Color That Site!" and you'll be able to alter the colors of the website.

I was able to get mine to look like this after about 15 mins of messing around

Image resized to 77% of its original size [640 x 360]
Image

cool thing about it is that it just effects the site you use it on

hope that helps

These were on the old WP, too.

Hmmm. I never noticed them at all.

There was the thing under profiles to find your old posts, but that is something much different. It's still there, as well.

I'm having a huge issue with the inability to zoom. I primarily interact with WP on my phone at this point, and if I'm not on my phone, I'm on a 7" tablet. Before I could zoom in and out in order to click on links. Now I can't, and I usually can't click links I want to. It's just not possible to easily click which page you want to go to on a phone screen for example.

With themes for coloration (yes, I know there's add-ons for web browsers, they don't include mobile browsers, and these colors give me sensory overload but I am not capable of bringing my laptop days I go to work), the ability to zoom, it'd be a lot easier to interact with. There are some definite improvements. The UI as it is, is a lot harder to interact with, and not just because its new. (Partially because its new, but not only because its that, partially I think its just bad UI design because of focus on the back end.)

I have a question, and I don't want to make it a new topic because the answer is probably stupidly obvious, but for some reason I can't detect the pattern/system.
Why are some people's names bolded?
