This is a polite requests to mods generally. If a thread is terrible, don't just move it to PPR. Lock it.

Move something to PPR if debate is getting a bit heated but it's a good thread.

I obviously don't want to give specific examples of terrible threads, but some users are repeat offenders who make dreadful threads along similar lines frequently. Pop into PPR now and you'll probably spot a few patterns in thread titles by users. These sorts of threads shouldn't be moved to PPR, they should just be locked.

If any mod is in any confusion as to which threads I am talking about, please PM me. If you are worried I am talking about your threads, please PM me.

What constitutes a "dreadful thread" is relative.

I may somewhat be to blame, I've been requesting that L&D threads that focus on gender politics rather than love or dating be moved to PPR, since my feeling is that the tougher crowd in PPR is better equipped to [i]handle]/i] them than L&D users, as well as News threads that are more polemic than informative, for similar reasons. I agree though, some threads just need to be put down, along with their author, if you're talking about who I think you are.

If it was up to me, I would just shut down that cesshole and jettison everyone in it out the airlock. Even if they are someone's relatives.

Those do seem like sensible suggestions, I just think someone should check if the threads are nonsense first.

*shrug*

Many topics I find nonsensical, others find worthwhile.

I prefer to let forum posters decide for themselves what topics deserve their attention.

PPR might have its cranks, its intellectual huckters, etc.

But, overall, it's quite a substantive subforum.

^ If you say so.

Regardless, discussions of "feminism" belongs in PPR, not L&D, and said topics will continue to be moved there.

I don't disagree at all; feminism is a philosophy, really.
