I haven't really worked with PHP before but I do have experience with programming (mostly in c++, which PHP is implemented in). I can always look up the language and offer to help out if I've got time to spare.

Thanks for asking, I would be glad to help on volunteer basis. I have about 5 hours free for development stuff every week during weekends.

The most recent spam attack was composed of threads with Chinese characters
I could make it so that if someone tried to use Chinese characters in a thread or post, then the post is deleted.

What happens if someone really is Chinese? Wrong Planet has a foreign languages sub-forum, for instance.

Oh i didn't know that
In that case i would take a look at the registration process
Put some random general knowledge questions in there

Also make a mod have to approve everyones first post and first thread before allowing general posting abilities.
