I think that it would be a good idea for us to have a Money and Finance forum. A lot of us live on our own, and many of us are on a limited budget. We can share money saving tips and help one each other budget our money.

I think this is a good idea. Without the financial assistance my parents have given me, I'd be in hot water by now. Have a hard time keeping track of stuff like spending.

I'm from the Google school of thought where less is more. I hate sites like Yahoo that
have bloated pages. Oh read the other day on Digg that the founders of Google did not know html at the time and thats why Googles interface is so simple.

What I'm driving at is all the sub-forums that have small post count just add more clutter. No new forum is going to be that popular. I see three forums that might as well be combined Art, Writing, and Music ;Games, Sports, and Fitness; Television, Entertainment, and Fashion.

Games could probably be combined with Television, Entertainment, and Fashion, but the argument could also be made that fashion could be combined with art, writing and music. (Creativity or something like that, bleh.)

Rather than having a forum just for finances and money, one focused on "survival" (trying to avoid adding "IN AN NT WORLD OMG HAETERZ" to the end of that) might be worthwhile.

edit: even that might not work though. It could be said that that's the "Coping in Life" section, but, eh, there's some areas that feel unintentionally left out because of the focus of the subforums already there.

I've stated a number of times that the forum is hard to navigate. The more forums added, the harder it gets. I'd really like to see a hierarchy of pages, accessable using less real estate on the main page. It does make things a little more complicated on new users though.

It really is a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. More hierarchy, more clicking. Less hierarchy, more clutter.

Aw the hell with it, leave it as it is for now. :P

And yet for some reason people still use that phrase....

I don’t think the forum index is too crowded at all. It’s organized by classification. I doubt that even a newbie would have a difficult time deciding where their post should go or where they should browse to find discussions that they are interested in reading. I would like to see this financial forum that is being proposed.

When I say crowded, I don't mean that it's hard to find something. It's that one has to scroll quite a bit to get where you're going (especially towards the bottem). This section (in particular) seems to get ignored. Some members may not even have made it down here. And this is the best way to get my attention (and perhaps that of other mods) that there is a problem.

Budget means moderation and using our resources more effectively. Something I learned the hard way.
