What gives with the search function?

Whenever I use the search function, lately, I get a 404 error. What gives? Internal dissent with Google's terms of service?

It has been like this for far too long. Has there been any official word on it at all?

Earlier this month, 3/4 July, I posted about similar issues and then it seemed to clear up, but now search is not working for me either.

Back then someone else suggested you can use Google- put in - site:wrongplanet.net xXxX (whatever you want to search for)

I don't get an error message, though the search function is useless to me. You enter a general topic/word highly relevant to autism, say 'seizures' and the search leads to an irrelevant page that has nothing to do with your request at all.

Much like the rest of the site, this is extremely buggy (seriously, WHY are there so many glitches in this place? The only site I go to thats buggier is Youtube!) and rarely worth using.

And when it DOES bother to work, all it "finds" is nonsense. Or, sometimes, you type in a word that you *know* was in a recent topic, and it says it couldnt find anything. You get frustrated, go spend some time looking for yourself, and then lo and behold, there's EXACTLY what you searched for. Which the search function didnt notice.

Really, it's terrible. It's reason number 156937570 why I think this site needs to be totally remade. Right now, it's a mess. I'm not sure there was ever a time where it WASNT a mess.
