XFilesGeek proved has a very belittling views on people who have no social life and spend a lot of time indoor or behind the screen.

XFilesGeek should not stay a mod on this autism forum.

Check her posts and judge by yourself:

Definitely! Build your own self up and make yourself feel complete and happy with yourself, then you will be worth dating.
But it's so much easier to stay at home and do nothing except complain on-line about how all women are meanies ...

 That's sarcasm, by the way ...

This.

My personal experience is that there's a direct negative correlation between people who do all their "socializing" from behind a computer screen, and people who are worth getting to know.

Then she repeats her view (and judging them that they make no effort either):

explain? are you say nerds or introverts are not worth getting to know?

Nerds and introverts with absolutely nothing going on in their lives and who make no effort to be interesting to other people are not worth getting to know.

i voted "no". i am an introvert. i think introversion being lumped with not worthwhile is insensitive at best, but i'm not going to return the favor.

Having those ideas on this forum overall is a good thing. It helps to understand what so many NTs think of us. There's already a lot of idealistic opinions on this forum, but that's not how the real world is. The real world is full of insensitive people.

No one is saying that she can't be insensitive or to word what she really thinks of introverts.

She can be a jerk toward introverts as much as she wants, but she shouldn't be a mod(
Even if those ideas are good like what you say.)

It's like a man who has belittling views on rape victims; sure he is free to say 'they asked for it', but if he's for example an elected politician or even a policeman, then seriously, he should resign or be fired.

No. In the context of that thread and that forum, she was talking specifically about people who don't make efforts to go out but sit there complaining that the world owes them friends and partners. Not those of us happy in our life.

I agree it was very harsh but I don't think they should be removed just from that. I do all my socializing via computer but then again I don't expect to be found interesting. I know I'm not. I haven't read that thread at all but it sounds like it was more directed to people who barely go outside and are surprised they haven't got a girlfriend or something along those lines. But correct me if I'm wrong, all I did was see the title and the replies you posted here.

No, she literally said: "My personal experience is that there's a direct negative correlation between people who do all their "socializing" from behind a computer screen, and people who are worth getting to know."

This statement is clear, it is not influenced by the context of my thread - it is what she thinks about introverts in general.

It means, that she thinks that all those WP members who have only online friends and who struggle to get a social life in real life - and those aren't few here, are very likely to be not worthy persons to know. Regardless whether they are happy with this lifestyle or not.

There's no other way to explain this statement; it is crystal clear.

I am not calling for a ban, I am just calling to remove her mod status.

I think everybody should be entitled to make a slightly prickly comment here and there, and that the best remedy is to argue back if what's said seems unacceptable. And she did say it was just her personal experience.

There has to be give and take. For example, I personally think that locking this thread was a little heavy-handed:
viewtopic.php?t=289407
But the world isn't perfect, and anyway there might have been a good reason that hasn't occurred to me yet. I think it would be good if anybody locking a thread would take the time to explain clearly why it was done.

Really, it seems rather drastic to recommend a moderator be removed for such small stuff. If a consistent pattern of bad behaviour becomes apparent over time, it gets more serious, but even then, the doctrine of minimum force should apply.

Little thin skinned? Mods are members too, and entitled to their own opinions, and entitled to participate in the site they're helping hold together at considerable personal cost. Using mod powers to enforce a bias or prejudice would be different, but this is not that.

Such a mountain out of an ant-hill. The problem seems to lie in the fact that someone identifies himself as an introvert who stays behind a computer-screen all day. Were she to identify me as such an individual, and decide that I'm not worth her time, due to having spent a bunch of time in front of my computer-screen, I might decide to think that maybe she also needs a hug, and I would just hug her at random (but then again I have most-certainly become quite the womaniser  ). Speaking of womanising & hugging her <hugs the XFilesGeek> :D

I handle my problems in life by trying to seduce instead of punish the ladies... gets me lots of being hugged back, and then some, because I am awesome, and irresistable, and attractive, and they just can't help themselves but to want me to give them more than just hugs...

Little thin skinned people are common here, after all, there are a lot of people who got bullied here when they were kids and developed low self esteem, self-worth and self-image issues.

The last thing they need, is a MODERATOR, meaning a WRONGPLANET REPRESENTATIVE telling them how unworthy they are.

This thread is useful. I'm starting to see why Boo has problems staying in relationships.

The thread is not about me, so keep your personal theories and opinions about me elsewhere.

I know that you side with her, you and Fnord have worded the same views as her, but you two are not moderators so I am fine with that.

I'm a socially isolated aspie and I've only just started posting here. You make it sound like we are orchestrating a conspiracy against you, maybe you are getting a bit of an x-files geek too?

Even if they were mods I wouldn't see a reason to be upset at them, what they said is not an offence and is also true. But she said that these people are not worth getting to know, which is completely different.
