Learn to put some thought into your posts before hitting that "Submit" button, and you'll cause less trouble and have fewer regrets later.

It's 30 minutes. Deal with it.

What's wrong with adding further thoughts later on? I'm merely disinclined to have to post lots of replies.

So... I want to either be made a mod or the threshold raised. I won't stand this artificiality.

It discourages trolls from posting something inflammatory, then editing their posts after receiving a bunch of indignant replies, and then claiming that their original posts were misunderstood.

By the way, by demanding to be made a moderator, you may have doomed yourself of ever becoming one on this website. It was Plato who said: "Those who seek power are not worthy of that power."

I don't care... I've proved myself not to be a troll. I couldn't give a hoot about 'power' (I'm admin on one of the ten most popular websites... why would I want something here for the heck of it?) - I want change. Alex clearly doesn't care much about this site; despite trying to recently renovate it he seems to enjoy travelling the world more than even removing a weird 'test' at the top of every page.

Yeah, and if this site could survive he should really allow others do things if they could. As, otherwise, as we've already seen, the site will break and rot.

If you want to add comments to your original post, just hit the "quote" button on the original post, and start your reply with the words "In addition ..." or "I've changed my mind about ..." or "I was completely wrong about ...", and then follow through with what you want to say.

Yes, it's just that simple.

Oh, yeah, because that's so efficient. My website? What do mean? As far as I knew WP isn't just a single person's website, as hundreds of people post on it, and it belongs to them much more than it belongs to someone who just travels the world mostly.

Oh yeah I have seen people so this and I knew a place online where people would post the original for in case the OP changes their post. But the downside to it was sometimes people are not clear enough in their story or they miss detail and didn't realize that detail was needed so they add it in their OP and people then think they have changed their story to make the responders look bad so people assume anyway the person is dishonest and have change their story. I had no idea people can be that paranoid online. It's the same with misunderstandings so the person refuses to believe it was a misunderstanding.

Its usually 25 minutes for me, yesterday I started to edit a post at 23 minutes, I clicked submit just before the 25 minute mark and got the 'cant be edited' message. Its very frustrating.

I do try to do all my edits before I click submit for the original post, sometimes though I just don't notice how my wording can be interpreted in a way I do not intend until I see it posted.

25 minutes might be more than sufficient for the linguistic folks, but for me personally as a visual thinker, its a restrictive time limit; what I'm trying to communicate makes absolute sense to me, I see it, I understand it, but the point of communication is for others to understand, and often the actual meaning of a point can be lost due to a slight jumbling of words.

Well, there's injustices and stupidity all over in the world, so I think someone responding angrily to them is the least anyone can do.
