Why does this (oh, btw, it would be lovely if WP could display links more prominently) say it's not available? It's been deleted? So much for linking it in my sig for so long...

the mods can see and access all 'deleted threads' - i couldn't see your link, i don't know. it certainly wasn't deleted the regular way (moving it).

and agreed - i'm sure there are a few browser addons that do that.

If you're a mod how come you can't see it?

usually we just move them to a area inaccessible to regular members. yours must have been deleted off the site completely, we don't have the tools to do that currently - and haven't had them for a while.

No one can even find out who did it? What kind of forum software is this? On Wikipedia admins can access deleted articles fine... and logs, more importantly, can be seen by anyone. Something seriously needed to change here... Alex seems to do whatever he wants and mostly bungles his coding... if he can't manage software he should at least rely on the default of some off-the-shelf...

it's quite possible if it was deleted it's in the logs somewhere. it'll take a bit of searching to find it that way.

sure! he'll put aside the rhetoric and hopefully stop these problems from happening again. i hope we haven't acted in a reckless and provocative manner.
